Time Machine

I built this environment as part of my 2nd year major project. It was nominated for an ffresh award in January 2013. It was originally designed to be a prop in a short film however the project was abandoned late into production. I continued and finished the rest of the environment and developed it in unity as a first person shooter styled,  explorable  environment. The Time Machine was designed to look like an hour glass. (2012)

Pagoda
Pagoda

I built this environment as part of my first year project. We had to design an environment suitable for a character we had designed. I built a Japanese styled Pagoda for my archer character "Aya", built in 3D studio Max. I was nominated in the "Glammies" (University of Glamorgan's end of year awards ceremony, judged by industry professionals) for "Most promising first year" for this project. (2011)

Gallery
Gallery

An art gallery displaying the works of David Franklin. Controls are similar to a first person shooter. I built this gallery back in 2008 to experiment with baking light and it was also one of my early attempts at coding. All Paintings and Illustrations are by David Franklin (2008)

O2arena
O2 Arena

In 2007 while I was working as freelance 3D Artist/Graphic Designer I made a short 3D animation of the new architecture of the The O2 Arena and how it fits into its new surroundings. It communicates what Dublin's docklands would look like by 2012. I made it using Maya, Photoshop, Illustrator and remotely rendered with Respower's render farm online. I coordinated with an architect from the construction company HOK to highlight the new design for the Point and I researched plans for potential new developments along the docklands to add to the projects authenticity.

A second shorter version was required to show the building at night with "your brand" logos to show to potential investers.
